HOW 7641 ISLAND KOOZIE CO. WAS BORN
Our Story
WHY OUR NAME "7641 ISLAND KOOZIE CO."?
The owners of 7641 Island Koozie Co. are fortunate to call the world-renowned Boracay Island in the Visayas region of the Philippines their home. One warm evening in May 2025, while enjoying ice-cold San Miguel drinks, they gathered to brainstorm the perfect name for their company. Living on an island, they considered naming it after their own, but with so many incredible islands in the Philippines, they wanted a name that would resonate with all Filipinos. After a lively discussion, aided by ChatGPT, they settled on the number of islands in the Philippines. Now, the million-dollar question remains: Are there 7,641 islands at high tide or low tide??????????????????
Chapter 1 THE BEER FRIDGE MAN
7641 Island Koozie Company was born from a simple yet passionate dream—helmed by Gord, a dedicated San Miguel Beer Drinker, and a desire to keep his drinks perfectly chilled. Living at Secret Garden Resort in Boracay, Gord envisioned having his very own San Miguel beer fridge outside his apartment, stocked with the best local San Miguel brews. GORDS' only rules arethat you have to call last call or you can not leave his house and keep your beer Cold!!! Gord wanted custom Koozies to represent San Miguel Beer and the resort he lives in. His plan was to get San Miguel to pay for the Koozies or at least pay half. Determined, he waited patiently for his wife Chi to go on holiday, so he could meet with a San Miguel representative without her knowledge and help make this dream a reality — all without Chi wanting him to bother the Secret Garden Resort owner and Staff where his apartment is located.
Chapter 2 THE BEER STEALER/IDEA GUY
His good friend and self-proclaimed brother, Mr. Darcy Kelly, a daily visitor and notorious beer stealer, also Chi’s Adopted Brother (NANNA, her mom made her), supported the idea. Darcy saw potential in creating something unique—something that would stand out amidst the typical souvenirs sold in Boracay’s shops.
During nightly walks with his loyal Filipino-American bully, Kraken, D'Arcy observed something astonishing: after 18 years of living in the Philippines, he had never seen a San Miguel Beer Koozie in the country. The realization sparked the idea that inspired the birth of 7641 Island Koozie Company.
The gap was clear—tourists often leave with generic, repetitive souvenirs like keychains and T-shirts. Yet, there was no iconic, functional item that truly captured the spirit of the Philippines or the love of its world-famous San Miguel Beers. Why was San Miguel, the Philippines’ premier brewery, not offering their own beer koozies? This glaring absence presented a golden opportunity.
Thus, the idea took shape: to craft high-end, custom San Miguel Beer Koozies that tourists could take home as unique souvenirs—reminders of their trip and symbols of Filipino pride. Our mission was clear to spread the love of the Philippines worldwide through quality merchandise that combines culture, function, and style.
CHAPTER 4 THE VAMPIRE GRAPHIC ARTIST
Having come up with our first product idea, we need the right graphic designer to take D'Arcy's visions and design ideas to life. Well, there was only one person who could take on the impossible tasks of taking D'Arcy's brain waves and make them a reality. Enter the one and only Rald, a very talented artist, graphic artist, and all-around good human being. BUT there is always a but with our company. Rald likes to work vampire/bar hours, which the real business world does not agree with. One day in May 2025, after the sun went down, Rald sat down and took D'Arcy's custom Boracay Island design ideas for San Miguel Beers SML, RED HORSE, AND THE ICONIC SMB. Rald put his spin on it, and not only did he bring them to life, he launched them out of the stratosphere, and 7641 Island Koozie Co. was born.
CHAPTER 5 THE LAST MISSING LINK
Doing business in the Philippines, you need a Filipino you trust, and for your company to be legal. Once again, there was only one person for the job. Let us re-introduce the amazing CHI. Chi, being married to Gord and in her words "AFTER 8 LONG YEARS," was willing to take the challenge of being the GLUE to hold us all together. Chi was able to get Rald to work half Vampire hours and half normal business hours, keep D'Arcy grounded and GORD THE BEER FRIDGE GUY happy by agreeing to support that damn beer fridge that started everything!!!
Chapter 6 THE KRAKEN
Kraken is a 2.5-year-old FILAM BULLY that is also the mascot of 7641 Island Koozie Co. She is loved by all and is part of the reason all of D'Arcy's crazy Ideas about Gord's dream of having Custom Beer Koozies were generated. Most of them happened on her walks home from GORD and Chi's house, so the KRAKEN is also a loving member of our team
In Loving Memory
Nana Chi’s mom was truly one-in-a-million, and her love and support forever shaped our story. Nana adopted D’Arcy as her surrogate son, and through her approval, she unknowingly helped pave the way for 7641 Island Koozie Co. to exist.
More importantly, Nana’s blessing was the reason Gord was able to find love with Chi. Without her, none of this—and the journey that brought us here—would have been possible.
